Enhancing sports production with leading edge technologies
RGB's extensive support to implement the Studio and Production Control Technology for ESPN Events
ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN Inc.'s division, is involved in managing top sporting events such as the Australian Open, IPL, Cricket World Cup, FIFA World Cup and other important sporting events. RGB Broadcasting has worked with the production team at ESPN Events to meet the challenges of production processing during these events through 2018 and 2019.
The main objective of ESPN's project was to improve the Cricinfo website's current infrastructure, which focuses on cricket. We were tasked with establishing a brand-new studio and production control room (PCR). Apart from that, our technocrats were also in charge of migrating the old broadcast infrastructure to the new one.
Having years of experience and expertise in providing sound broadcasting solutions, we were extremely fortunate to be able to collaborate with the ESPN team to comprehend their challenges and furnish a robust long-term solution.
RGB Broadcasting is aware of the difficulties and volume of work that is involved in the studio and production control rooms (PCR) during sporting event broadcasts. Our top-tier system engineers ensure that the broadcast studio integration project is completed efficiently by applying our primary integration methodology, providing top-notch system integration and embedding top-quality technologies such as AEQ, VizRT, Imagine, Harmonic, Grassvalley, Adobe, LiveU, TVU, Panasonic, Kroma, Dell, HP and TSL.
Our expert involvement in the project included - Migration and Upgradation of studio and PCR equipment, product procurement, project management and project execution. To ensure seamless execution of the project, technical analysis, installation and testing of equipment, required for the production is practiced relentlessly.
Our professional specialists enjoy pushing themselves beyond their capabilities, and this time was no exception. We had a 30-day deadline from ESPN. This time the biggest challenge our engineers encountered was meeting the production requirements within the stipulated time frame.
To provide uninterrupted service, we incorporated a total of 550 hours of manpower, allowing us to meet the deadline within the given timeframe of 30 days. We also had to streamline the workflow without interfering with the production process, which is very complex and takes a lot of time and effort.
Without a doubt, over the years, RGB Broadcasting has developed a significant presence in sports broadcasting. We worked with Star Sports in 2015, assisting them in establishing a production-ready studio in time for the start of the Cricket World Cup.
The RGB’s expertise, technological investments, and priceless resources make it one of the most promising partners for broadcasters and media organisations looking to grow or enter the new era of broadcasting.
